The start of the sixth session of states parties to the (UNCAC)


The sixth session of the conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption has started today  2/11/2016, during the period 2-6/11/2015 in the Russian Federation. The kingdom is participating in a delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Khaled bin Abdulmohsen Al-Muhaisen, President of the National anti-Corruption Commission. The delegation is consisted from the following governmental entities ( Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, the Bureau of Investigation and prosecution,  the Ombudsman Office and the Ministry of Finance).
H.E. the President of Nazaha said in the speech he delivered at the opening ceremony of the conference that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is continuing the process of development, protecting integrity and fighting corruption. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz ordered to review the control systems to enhance their role in eliminating corruption and saving public funds and to ensure punishing the violators. All of this show that the leadership is keen to fight corruption and to work for the benefit of all citizens.
H.E. pointed out that on the basis of the National Strategy of maintaining Integrity and fighting corruption which mentioned the promotion of cooperation between countries to benefit from the experiences of other countries and international organizations in fighting Corruption and developing related approaches.
It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom became a state party in the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) after the ratification by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (62). This conference is considered as the most important conference in fighting corruption and protecting integrity and it aims to promote international cooperation and evaluation of legislation in fighting corruption and protecting integrity. The number of states parties are more than 175 countries.
