H.E. Dr. Bandar bin Ahmed AbalKhail, Vice President of the National Anti-Corruption Commission for the Protection of Integrity, inaugurated the first meeting for the development of studies and research in the field of protecting integrity and fighting corruption, held by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) on Tuesday 13/11/2018 in Riyadh, with the participation of a number of leaders and officials in universities, government and private research centers.
In his speech at the opening of the meeting, H.E. said that the efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Commission strengthen the national achievements in line with the vision of the Kingdom 2030. H.E. also stressed on the importance of carrying out studies and research on the subject of protecting integrity and fighting corruption and the expected role of universities, academic institutions and research centers In this regard to achieve many goals, including, the identification and adoption of appropriate means to prevent corruption and fill in the gaps that could lead to corruption.
He said that scientific research is the at the core of work that contributes to achieving the objectives of the national strategy for Maintaining Integrity and Combating corruption.
The aim of the meeting was to highlight the applications of research and studies in the field of the protection of integrity and the fight against corruption by identifying research initiatives, discussing ways to enhance support for applied studies and research, and the most recent trends in conducting studies and research, exchange of experiences and future visions.
This meeting comes within the framework of the National Strategy for Maintaining Integrity and Combating Corruption and the statute of the Commission which emphasizes on the importance of supporting and carrying out studies and research in depth on the subject of the protection of integrity and fighting corruption. It is urged for the academic institutions, specialized research centers and civil society institutions to conduct further studies and research in the field of protecting integrity and fighting corruption.
