The launch of Nazaha's Second International Conference (Governance, Transparency, Accountability)

​Under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Nazaha's Second International Conference entitled (Governance, Transparency, Accountability) will start on monday; the 20th of February 2017 in Riyadh, at Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski. It will be organized by the National Anti-Corruption Commission  (Nazaha) with the participation of specialists and experts from the kingdom and internationally in the field of protecting integrity and fighting corruption.
It aims to raise awareness about the importance of governance, transparency, accountability, the rules and laws related to it, benefit from the experiences of other countries and organizations, and promote international cooperation in asset recovery.
The conference will bring together 40 experts and specialists in the field of topics related to governance, transparency, accountability, international cooperation and asset recovery. The conference will consist of 8 sessions and 2 workshops.
The first keynote speaker will be his H.E Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, Advisor at the Royal Court, and the Moderator will be Mr. Abdulaziz Al-aeed, Director General in charge of the Cultural Channel.
The first session is entitled "Governance and its Role in Fighting Corruption", it will address governance in the public and private sectors, Impact of governance at the level of well-being in the community, governance applications in Saudi Arabia's vision 2030, recent trends in the field of governance. The speakers at this session  will be Dr. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Buraidy, Professor of Administration and organizational behavior at the University of Qassim, Dr. Thuraya Ahmed Abeed, Former Shura Council Member, Dr. Ibtisam Mohammed Alkitbi, President of Emirates Policy Center, H.E. Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Tunsi, Advisor in the Royal Court, Dr. Amer Mohammed Alhusaini, Corporate Governance and a Columnist, Mr. Bertrand Rossertm Adviser to the Vice President and Chief Ethics Officer (The World Bank), and the moderator of this session will be Mr. Fadhl  Saad Albuainain, Economic journalist and analyst.
The second keynote speaker will be Prof. Robert Klitgaard, Claremont University Professor and Advisor on Economic Strategies, and this session will be moderated by Dr. Hanan Abdulraheem Alahmadi, Shura Council Member.
The second session is entitled transparency, it will address E-Government innovations, financial disclosure and disclose of interests, partnership between the public and private sectors in contracts and projects, and the role of media. The speakers at this session will be Dr. Abdulrahman Saad AlJadhai, CEO of Elm Company, Eng. Abdullah bin Nasser Alghanam, Director of the General Directorate for Research and Consulting , National Information Center, Dr. Tilman Hoppe, Anti-corruption expert, Ms. Carla Koffel, Executive Director of Pearl Initiative, Eng. Ahmed Alshanqeety, Vice President of Global Procurement In Sabic, Mr. Abdulaziz Albusaili, Lawyer and legal adviser-founding partner of Clyde Global legal firm in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jumeiah, Professor of Journalism at the Faculty of Information and Communication of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Mr. Abdulwahab Mohammed AlFayez, and the moderator of this session will be Mr. Talat Zaki Hafez
 Secretary General, The Committee of Media and Banking Awareness, Former Chief Editor (Alyaum newspaper).
Third keynote speaker will be H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Barrak , Former Civil Services Minister, and the Moderator will be Dr. Khaled bin Othman Alyahya, CEO of Palladium Company.
First session of the second day is entitled "Accountability",  it will address Means and mechanisms for dealing with cases of corruption, instant Accounting applications in legislation, legal applications to achieve accountability, the role of civil society institutions. The speakers of this session will be Mr. Bruce McAlister, General Counsel, Global Growth Organization (GGO) for General Electric Company (GE), Prof. Alina Mungiu-Pippidi, Head of Democracy Studies at Hertie School of Governance, Dr. Mohammed Noman, General Counsel, General Electric Company- Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulwahab Alsudairy , Vice president of the Bureau of  Investigation and Prosecution, Prof. Tina Søreide, Professor of Law and Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics, Eng. Abdulaziz Al-sgeer, Vice president of Saafah Foundation, Mr. Salah Al-gazali, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Transparency Society, and the moderator of this session will be Dr. Ahmed Alsqeeh, Board Member of Saudi lawyers Commission.
Fourth keynote speaker will be Mr. Michael Hershman, Group CEO of the International Centre for Sport Security, and the Moderator will be  Dr. Khaled bin Othman Alyahya, CEO Of Palladium Company.
Second session of the second day is entitled "International Cooperation and Asset Recovery". The speakers at this session  will be Dr. Issa bin Abdulrahman Al-Issa, Director General of Legal Affairs in the Ministry Of Interior, Mr. Turki bin Abdullah Al-Tamim, Assistant to the Director General Legal Affairs in the Ministry Of Interior, Mr. Arkan El Seblani, Chief Technical Advisor & Manager, Regional Project on Anti-Corruption and Integrity in Arab Countries, Dr. Laode Muhammad Syarif, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Eradication Commission (KPK), Mr. Hussien Hassan Mohammed, Legal Adviser of the Chairman Of Administrative Control and Transparency Authority in Qatar, Mr. Jean Pesme Practice Manager, Finance & Markets Global Practice, World Bank Group, and the moderator of this session will be H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al Abdulkader, Former Vice President of Nazaha for the Protection of Integrity.
There will be two workshops, on the margin of the conference, in the field of protecting integrity and fighting corruption. The first one is entitled: Fighting Corruption and Promoting Integrity in the Field of Sports, presented by Mr. Michael Hershman, Group CEO  The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS). And the other one is about How Can Auditors Discover Poor Governance, presented By Prof. Robert Klitgaard, Claremont University Professor and Advisor on Economic Strategies.
