Al Shareef: Appraises the Council of Ministers' approval of the Kingdoms accession to the convention of establishing the International Anti-corruption Academy.

​H.E. the President of The National Anti-Corruption Commission Mr. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Shareef, has expressed his gratitude for the Council of Ministers' approval of the Kingdoms accession to the convention of establishing the International Anti-corruption Academy, in its session dated 22/4/1434H corresponding 5/3/2013 , as an International Organization, located in Vienna, Austria.
And said that "The Kingdoms accession to this convention is a positive step towards promoting International cooperation, exchange of information, opinion and expertise in the field of Anti-corruption".
"this academy is concerned with the preparation of training courses at different times of the year. Also, it has Master Programs in the field of Anti-corruption,  and the Commission will benefit from it, by training its cadres in the field of promoting transparency and combating corruption. The Kingdom, after the Council of Ministers approval  of the Kingdoms accession to the convention to establish the International Anti-corruption Academy, will be a party in it, which will have the positive impact upon supporting the Kingdom's international efforts in the field of combating corruption and maintaining integrity, as stated in the United Nations Convention against corruption, which the Kingdom had ratified, noting in the same time, that the National Strategy for Maintaining Integrity and Combating Corruption issued by the Council of Minister Resolution No. (43) dated 1/2/1428H corresponding 19/2/2007 , states upon benefiting from the expertise of states, governmental and nongovernmental international organizations in the field of combating corruption and maintaining integrity, also the Commissions Organizing Statute states that the Commission's specialties and objectives include the cooperation with regional and international organizations and institutions working in the field of maintaining integrity and combating corruption " he added.
H.E clarified that "this Academy, and according to the (first) article of its establishment convection, is an international organization with a full legal international entity, and that the purpose of its foundation is stated in the (second) article of its establishment convention, which is promoting for the combating of corruption by provision of education, professional training, engaging in different aspects of corruption researches, presenting other forms of related technical assistance, and encouraging the international cooperation in the field of Anti-corruption, and that all of these purposes are corresponding with the Commissions objectives".
