Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, participated in the 14th General Meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), held today, Thursday, 6 February 2025, in virtual format. During the meeting, Saudi Arabia, represented by H.E. the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, Mr. Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, was elected as a member of IAACA’s Executive Committee. This recognition reflects the international community’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s international efforts in the fight against corruption. On this occasion, H.E. delivered Saudi Arabia’s speech, commending the vital role played by the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities in fostering international cooperation, promoting transparency, and integrity across many countries. He highlighted the Association’s aim of facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between countries and anti-corruption authorities, as well as developing effective strategies to address this issue at both the local and international levels. Additionally, he emphasized its crucial role in building a network of international partners to support the implementation of legislation and policies related to transparency and accountability. In conclusion, H.E. affirmed Saudi Arabia’s determination, in collaboration with member states and all stakeholders, to make a significant and effective contribution to achieving the goals of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). It is worth mentioning that the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) is an independent, non-political anti-corruption organization with over 180 anti-corruption agencies from different countries. IAACA works to promote the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), and to attain the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all forms by 2030. IAACA also seeks to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices among anti-corruption authorities and specialists worldwide, as well as organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programs. The Association is also committed to strengthening relations with regional and international organizations to unite and enhance the global anti-corruption efforts.
