H.E. the head of Saudi Arabia’s delegation attending the high-level meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network), the President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, Mr. Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, congratulates the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah protect them - on the occasion of announcing the selection Saudi Arabia as Chair for the term (2025-2027) during the high-level meeting of the network in Beijing, China.
This selection reflects our leadership's approach to make Saudi Arabia an exemplary and leading nation in all aspects, including combating corruption, and it also manifests the confidence of the international community in the efforts of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, in combating cross-border corruption. We look forward to enhance the utilization of the network to deny safe havens for corrupt individuals and their funds, as well as developing needed tools to combat the evolving patterns of corruption crimes and their proceeds.
H.E. also congratulated the Deputy of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority for International Collaboration, Dr. Nasser AbaalKhail, on being selected as the Chair of the Network, wishing him success in this mission
It is worth noting that the GlobE Network is a global initiative launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during its presidency of the G20, and was officially adopted by the United Nations on December 17, 2021, during the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), held in Egypt. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres, praised the role of Saudi Arabia in establishing the Network during his speech at the opening of the Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly against Corruption in 2021, at that time Spain was selected as Chair of the steering committee of the network, while Saudi Arabia served as the Vice-Chair. Over the past three years, 219 anti-corruption authorities and more than 120 Member States have joined the network.
